A new version of System Architect has been commercially released

PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT:

 System Architect® 11.4.11.1 Released

As a valued System Architect® customer, we want to let you know that a new version of System Architect has been commercially released. We continue to drive improvements to the product within themed areas to enable you to build and maintain a strategic, value-driven enterprise architecture.

System Architect 2024 – Version 11.4.11.1 provides the following enhancements:

New Framework Viewers for UAF, NAF 4, and TOGAF 10
Framework Viewers are now provided for the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and NATO Architecture Framework 4.0 (NAF 4). The TOGAF Framework Viewer has been revised to support TOGAF 10.

A Framework Viewer is a graphical interface that allows you to click on cells in a picture of the framework to access the diagrams, definitions, and matrices of a particular architecture stage.
Diagramming Named Font Styles
You now have the ability to create one or more named font styles. You can create a named font style and assign a font style, color, boldness, etc. to it. You may then select symbols on a diagram and apply the named font style to them by simply selecting the named font style from a drop-down toolbar on the main menu.

A named font style may also be applied to the header of the Heat Map Manager.
Usability Enhancements to Picture Browser
The picture browser has been enhanced to show images in a grid instead of a list of filenames. This allows you to easily view and place images on a diagram, then transform them into a definition of your chosen framework wherein they supersede the normal picture used for the definition.

The keyboard interface for the list of images has been improved with paging support. You can also specify the size of the created symbol when creating a picture referencing the chosen source image. The folder browser now uses the file browse dialog allowing a path to be typed in. External folders accessed are remembered in the INI file.
Usability Enhancements to Matrices
Matrices have been enhanced to allow you to multi-select columns and rows of matrices with a single click on the column or row header.
Usability SA XT Drawing
Selection of symbols in SA XT now matches the behavior in rich-client System Architect.
Text presentation has been updated to more closely match rich-client System Architect in terms of font size and text wrapping.
Presentation has been improved for the Note symbol and the BPMN Pool and Lane symbols.
Performance
Encyclopedias with configurations pushing boundaries on meta model structure now take less time to open. A lot of data was being collected about line connection possibilities which was unnecessary. Line connections have been retested and the time taken to open the Help Me Pick A Line Type dialog reduced.
Client Issues
A number of client issues are also fixed, as enumerated and described in the Release Notes.
