A new version of System Architect has been commercially released

PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT:

 System Architect® 11.4.8.2 released

As a valued System Architect® customer, we want to let you know that a new version of System Architect (SA) has been commercially released. We continue to drive improvements to the product within themed areas to enable you to build and maintain a strategic, value-driven enterprise architecture.

System Architect 11.4.8.2 provides the following enhancements:

Integrations - Initial Support for OSLC Global Configurations: Support for OSLC Global Configurations has been introduced. SA has supported OSLC since the inception of the REST standard for tool interchange, but now users may choose configuration of links. Highlights:
An SA workspace can be contributed to a global configuration.
Users may create OSLC links between SA and DOORS Next Gen (DNG) in the context of a selected global configuration.
Incoming SA links are visible from DNG in the context of the selected global configuration.
Frameworks - sysML 1.6 and UML 2.5 Enhancement: Users can now model multi-part relationship lines in one action, a key new feature that makes modeling complex sysML 1.6 and UML 2.5 relationships very easy.
Frameworks - ArchiMate 3.1: ArchiMate support has been updated from ArchiMate 3.0 to the ArchiMate 3.1 metamodel.
Frameworks - UAF with DoDAF 2 Prefixes: Users may turn on DoDAF 2 Prefixes when working with the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) so that all viewpoints are presented with DoDAF 2 nomenclature (example, OV-2, etc).
Frameworks - DoDAF 2 Enhancements: The BPMN Data Object symbol has been added to the DoDAF 2 OV-5b diagram, allowing users to link it to appropriate symbols (Message Flows, Sequence Flows, etc).
Frameworks - BPMN Enhancements: The Reporting system now allows users to report on the associations between Data Objects and node-type symbols.
Customizable Metamodel Enhancement: Support added for multi-part explicit relationship lines based on listof type references.
Automatic Importing of Data Sources: The SA API offers two new command lines on SA startup, so that VBA 7.1 macros can be initiated and run automatically via Windows Scheduler. This allows macros that import information from other sources to run automatically.
SA XT Web Drawing Enhancements: Auto-routing and straightening of lines is now available in SA XT, matching what is available in the rich client.
SA XT Reporting GUI Enhancements: Users may now load previously saved Shared or Private queries in the SA XT Query Builder.
Client Issues: A number of client issues are also fixed, as enumerated and described in the Release Notes.
SA XT Definition Editor Enhancements: Enhancements to the SA XT definition editor provide features available in the rich client: a) the Choices dialog now has a Name filter and a Type filter, and b) a new View button has been added to Listof and Oneof controls as well as Choices Listof and Oneof controls.
Managing the EA - Finding Bad Data: A new command is available on the Dictionary menu: Create Unrelated Definitions List, which produces a report listing all definitions without relationships, so users can quickly see possible orphan definitions that were put into the EA but never related to anything.
Managing the EA - Running Dictionary Update on Selected Artifacts: Users can now run Dictionary Update for selected EA artifacts in the Explorer tree by selecting the Assert Relationships command.
Managing the EA - Running VBA 7.1 Macros for Selected Artifacts: Users can run a VBA 7.1 macro for selected EA artifacts in the Explorer tree by selecting the artifacts and running the Run Macro command.
SA REST: The SARest API now supports pagination of queries.
New, Modernized SA Help Format: The help is now produced in Reverb, a modern, responsive format that renders well on a variety of devices and screen sizes. In addition, the new help format provides: a) High-performance load times; b) Optimized context-sensitive help usage; c) Superior search facilities; d) Much better compliance with web accessibility standards; and e) If the online help is hosted on a web server, the ability to invoke the Google Translate facility to display the page being viewed in another language.
Client Issues: A number of client issues are also fixed, as enumerated and described in the Release Notes.
